4th of July Weekend

For family in the US, I hope you all had a good 4th of July weekend. For us all in San Jose, mom and dad had an early celebration on Friday with a BBQ. As usual, dad’s BBQ’d chicken, steak and corn were excellent!

Dad at the grill.Sunday morning was a big day for Lulu – she had solid food for the first time!  We were supposed to start her on Saturday, but we wanted her to be a “baby” for one more day. She did extremely well, not too messy, and not too fussy. I think she’s been waiting for quite a while – while we eat, she makes mouthing motions as if to say that she’s eating too. Too cute.

Angela needed a day to catch-up with school. To make things easier, I took Lulu and Myles to Casa de Fruta for the day. As in the past, playing local tourist, we get there and ate at the restaurant (which is pretty good, and really not expensive at all) and finished by sharing a cherry pie a la mode (their pies are excellent!). Lulu go hungry too, so I fed her a bottle. We left to go play at the playground and walk around. I think today was my first “mostly daddy day” with Lulu :)

Christmas in the Park 2008

Christmas in the Park, San Jose, CA 2008

We finally made it to Christmas in the Park in Downtown San Jose. There’s really no way to celebrate the holidays in San Jose. If there’s even the slightest bit of Grinch in you, Christmas in the Park and a cup of Mexican hot chocolate should clear that right up.

Halloween Festivities

We did the traditional Halloween festivities this year with the addition of Myles’ school Halloween parade. Very cute. A few weeks earlier, we went to the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival.
Pumpkin everything! This pumpkin weighed in at 1226 lbs. That’s a big pumpkin! If you haven’t been there, you should go at least once. Me and Myles liked the pumpkin ice cream.
