For family in the US, I hope you all had a good 4th of July weekend. For us all in San Jose, mom and dad had an early celebration on Friday with a BBQ. As usual, dad’s BBQ’d chicken, steak and corn were excellent!
Sunday morning was a big day for Lulu – she had solid food for the first time! We were supposed to start her on Saturday, but we wanted her to be a “baby” for one more day. She did extremely well, not too messy, and not too fussy. I think she’s been waiting for quite a while – while we eat, she makes mouthing motions as if to say that she’s eating too. Too cute.
Angela needed a day to catch-up with school. To make things easier, I took Lulu and Myles to Casa de Fruta for the day. As in the past, playing local tourist, we get there and ate at the restaurant (which is pretty good, and really not expensive at all) and finished by sharing a cherry pie a la mode (their pies are excellent!). Lulu go hungry too, so I fed her a bottle. We left to go play at the playground and walk around. I think today was my first “mostly daddy day” with Lulu
We finally made it to Christmas in the Park in Downtown San Jose. There’s really no way to celebrate the holidays in San Jose. If there’s even the slightest bit of Grinch in you, Christmas in the Park and a cup of Mexican hot chocolate should clear that right up.
Happy Holidays everone! Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. The baby’s doing fine. We’re down to the last month now before she arrives. 1st week of January is just around the corner with lots of preparation still to go, not to mention Christmas.
Myles sprained his ankle on Friday while playing basketball. The sprain’s pretty bad, but otherwise he’s okay. No sports for him for at least a week while it heals.
